  • #UnityTips Give your fire animations more impact by using a script on a point light!

    Let the light dance in a random pattern to simulate the movement of the flames and make the lighting and shadows more interesting.

  • #UnityTips If you need some movement in your background, you can use a particle systems set it to bursts and add a simple sprite sheet to create randomly generated flocks of birds.

  • #UnityTips You can drag & drop a selection of sprites or a spritesheet into the animation window to create keyframes.

    Scale them to change the timing.

    This works for sprite animations as well as for UI images#indiedev #gamedev pic.twitter.com/F5TgT2nJob

  • #unitytips You can give your animations a nicer look without the need for additional tools.

    One option is to use Mathf.smoothstep to get a nice ease-in/out behaviour.

    Works everywhere where you use a parameter that goes from 0 to 1 to control something.#indiedev #gamedev pic.twitter.com/A74lMmRbOg

  • #UnityTips Animators on UI elements will set those to "dirty" every frame, even if no animation is playing. Animators don't have null operation checks.

    Use them only on elements that constantly move!
    Or write your own tweening logic / use DoTween by @demigiant#indiedev #gamedev

  • #UnityTips Here is a simple way to visualize an AudioFile on an emissive textur.

    Just use the AudioSource.GetData and calculate an average over your samples.
    Use that for brightness.

  • #unitytips Randomize the starting point of an #animation to give a more natural feeling to a tiled animation with just one line of #code:
    gameObject.GetComponent() .Play(0,-1, Random.value);#indiedev #gamedev pic.twitter.com/D7FPiqwRFw
