Forensics: Crime Scene Detective starting at now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S now

Binary Impact GmbH, based in Niederelbert is releasing, in collaboration with the Paderborn-based publisher Aerosoft , is now releasing “Forensics: Crime Scene Detective for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game focuses on the work of forensic experts and was developed with expert consultation from the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office.
In *Forensics: Crime Scene Detective*, players collect evidence at crime scenes, document it, and then analyze their findings in the lab. The focus isn’t on car chases or interrogations, but on forensic work: fingerprints, DNA traces, digital data, bloodstains, and ballistic evidence must be carefully collected and categorized.
Based on the experiences of real experts from the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office (LKA-RLP), the game presents forensic procedures in an interactive format. This collaboration influenced, among other things, the case structure, methods, methodology, and the depiction of forensic processes. The project was funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Media Fund and the federal government’s computer game funding program.
“Some of the best project ideas come from unexpected places. “During a dinner together, we started talking about crime scene investigations and evidence collection,” says Jens Wiechering, CEO of Binary Impact. “These conversations led to the question of how to translate real forensic work into an exciting interactive experience. That became the foundation for ‘Forensics: Crime Scene Detective.'”
Even before its release, the project generated a great deal of interest. The demo was downloaded more than 80,000 times during Steam Next Fest, and there are now over 180,000 expressions of interest via the wishlist system on the Steam video game store. Feedback from players was incorporated into the game’s further development.
