Westerwald studio launches the concept phase of a well-known German role-playing game IP
Niederelbert / Mainz, December 18, 2025
The software and game studio Binary Impact is receiving €47,500 in funding in the second round of the Rhineland-Palatinate Media Fund 2025. The funding will support the design of a game based on a well-known German IP from the role-playing segment. The funding will enable early concept work and team scaling before the actual production phase begins.

“We are grateful for the trust placed in us by the newly formed Games Jury,” says Jens Wiechering, Managing Director of Binary Impact. “With this funding, we can help to further expand a well-known German IP. We are delighted to be able to play a part in this piece of German gaming history.”
In terms of content, the project will focus in the coming months on developing the basic mechanics, an initial world definition, the technical underpinnings, and the structure of the future game. Based on this preliminary work, a clear roadmap for subsequent production will be developed.
Medienförderung Rheinland-Pfalz has been supporting creative projects in the state for many years and supports both audiovisual works and games. The focus is on promoting innovative approaches and the further development of Rhineland-Palatinate as a media location.
Binary Impact has been developing software and game projects for industry, public clients, and the entertainment sector since 2016. With the current funding, the studio is further expanding its role in the games sector.
