We were represented at the trade show this year with two games: “Forensics: Crime Scene Detective” and “Seaworks: Trap Season.”

We are particularly proud that we had the opportunity to staff the Aerosoft GmbH booth together with our colleagues from the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office (LKA). For “Forensics: Crime Scene Detective,” this collaboration was something special right from the start. The fact that we were now able to showcase it together at gamescom—with plenty of interaction, conversations, and great interest from visitors—was a real highlight for us.

A big thank you to Aerosoft and the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office (LKA) for their cooperation, preparation, and hard work on site.

We were also represented with both games at the GameUp! Rhineland-Palatinate booth in Hall 10.2. We were delighted to welcome Minister of Economic Affairs Michael Ebling, Anja Schraut, State Secretary and Head of the Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of Rhineland-Palatinate, State Secretary for Media Torsten Welling, and representatives of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament.

In addition to the two booths we’re really proud of, the rest of our time at gamescom consisted of many conversations, press events with media representatives from all over the world, discussions with colleagues from the industry, the inevitable trade show banter here and there, and, of course, direct contact with players. It is precisely this interaction that is valuable to us, because it’s where we get honest feedback, new perspectives, and sometimes exactly the insights we need to make a game better.

For a studio like Binary Impact, attending gamescom isn’t just about being at our own booth. It’s all about the encounters, the conversations, and showcasing what we’re working on in Rhineland-Palatinate. This is also made possible with the support of Medienförderung Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH.

That is precisely why dialogue with policymakers is so important. Rhineland-Palatinate continues to grow as a hub for the gaming industry, and we should continue to demonstrate that not only are great games created here, but also that this is a significant industry with technological expertise, jobs, and international visibility.
